Have you rewatched the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory yet? Many of you have. In fact, I heard that the entire game was played on jumbotron screens as fans were waiting for the Super Bowl parade to begin. I’m sure the fans enjoyed every minute of it. I haven’t watched a replay of the entire game, but I did find a YouTube video containing all of the significant plays. I have to admit, I was glued to the screen.

I’ll probably watch it again, even though it shows Tom Brady throwing for 505 yards (which set an all-time record for any quarterback in the history of playoff games), even though the Patriots didn’t have to punt even one time in the game. The total offensive gain (for both teams) was a whopping 1,151 yards. That is the most yards in any NFL game that has ever been played!

When I watch a replay of the Super Bowl, it doesn’t bother me to see Tom Brady be, well… Tom Brady. Why? I know how the game ends, and WE WIN!

In much the same way, I can watch life unfold day-by-day without getting all stressed out. How? I’ve already read the last chapter. I know how the story comes out. God wins–and I belong to His team!

In a minute I’ll share HOW I know for sure that God will win, but first, let’s take a minute and think about WHAT God’s victory will look like.

The Bible explains that Jesus is “… the ruler of the kings of the earth….” (Revelation 1:5) and that when He returns to earth “… every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen” (Revelation 1:7).

Notice how everyone will respond when Jesus returns to this world: “… every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10–11).

It does bring me sorrow now when Christ’s name is used as a curse word. I hate it when God’s Word is ridiculed or misrepresented, or when God’s opinion is treated as worthless. Yes, those things are disheartening, but I know these are temporary problems. When all is said and done, Jesus will win. That must be why the Apostle John cried out, “… Come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).

When you know who is going to win, you can relax even when it looks like you’re losing. That is why so many Christians can endure a lot of difficulties and still remain calm.

This all sounds fine, but HOW can we know for sure that God will win the victory? The Bible helps us here, too.

We can have great confidence that Jesus will win over all of His enemies because Scripture says that after they “… took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb…. God raised Him from the dead; and for many days He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very ones who are now His witnesses to the people” (Acts 13:29–31).

There is more proof that Christ was raised from the dead than there is for any other fact in ancient history. That is why Peter could boldly stand before many who had called for Christ’s death and tell them: “You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses” (Acts 3:14–15). Many of those witnesses were executed rather than deny that they had seen the risen Christ.

Since Jesus was dead and then came back to life (just as He predicted), I know I can trust everything that He has said. There has never been a religious leader like Him! The day of His victory parade is coming. He will win it all!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).

Here is the best news ever: All who want to turn away from their sin and who surrender their hearts to Jesus and follow Him can know that they are on the winning side too. Jesus doesn’t just pick out the best ones. You don’t have to make the draft. Scripture says, “‘Come.’ and let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost” (Revelation 22:17). When you become a follower of Jesus, then you have “an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:4–5).
