Maybe you can relate to some of the static I have to deal with in my life. I regularly see or hear advertisers trying to convince me that I have to buy their products. They are constantly trying to lure me into thinking that I will be happy if I just drive their car, use their soap, or eat their food.
These attempts to change the traditional meaning of Christmas really bother me. They bother many other Americans, too. For those of us who feel this way, there is a danger in all of this that we must carefully avoid.

Needless to say, I am immediately suspicious of his promise to give me an amazing deal on that used car sitting on his car lot.
